Learn how visibility builds trust and opportunity—and how to confidently take up

Episode Transcript:

Host (Maya):
Welcome back to the Ammora Podcast — the space where we peel back the polished surface of entrepreneurship and talk about what it actually takes to build a brand that feels aligned, magnetic, and true to who you are.

Today’s episode is called The Visibility Lounge: Stand Out, Speak Up, Succeed — and it’s all about helping you get seen, get heard, and grow your business by showing up as you. And to unpack this, I’m joined by the bold and brilliant visibility strategist, Carmen Lee. Carmen, welcome to the lounge!

Guest (Carmen):
I’m SO excited to be here, Maya! Visibility is literally my love language, so I’m hyped for this conversation.

Maya:
Same here. Let’s get right into it — what does “visibility” actually mean to you?

Carmen:
Oooh. So, for me, visibility is not just showing your face online. It’s about being seen for your truth. It’s standing fully in your story, your strengths, your weirdness — all of it — and letting people connect with the real you. It’s also strategic — but the heart of it is authenticity. That’s where the magic is.

Maya:
YES. And yet, I know so many women listening are like, “Okay… but how?” There’s so much noise out there. So many people feel frozen between wanting to show up and fearing what people might think. What would you say to someone in that space?

Carmen:
Totally. That fear is real, and it’s often tied to past conditioning — being told to stay small, not be “too much,” to be agreeable. My advice? Start messy. You don’t need the perfect strategy to begin. Share one story. Go live once. Show your face in your feed. Visibility builds with reps — and courage builds with action.

Maya:
So good. One thing I love about your approach is that it’s not just about getting likes — it’s about building resonance. How do you coach your clients to create content that actually connects?

Carmen:
Great question. I have this little framework I call the “V.I.B.E.” method
V: Voice — Speak in your real voice, not corporate jargon.
I: Intention — Know why you're posting. What's the goal? Connection? Authority? Education?
B: Belief — Share what you believe in. That’s what magnetizes your people.
E: Energy — People don’t just read your words — they feel your energy. Show up with your full self.

Maya:
I love that — and it’s simple enough to remember. I want to talk about something else I know you've been vocal about — visibility doesn’t always mean being on video every day. Can we break that myth?

Carmen:
Yes, please. Not everyone thrives on camera, and that’s okay. Visibility is multidimensional. You can write powerful emails, host a podcast, speak on stages, build a referral network — it’s about finding your lane. I always say: visibility isn’t a performance, it’s a practice.

Maya:
That hits. And for someone who’s just starting and feels invisible in a saturated market — what’s a realistic, aligned way to start building that visibility muscle?

Carmen:
Pick one platform. That’s it. Don’t try to be everywhere at once. Choose the one that feels the most natural to you — and commit to showing up consistently for 90 days. Not to go viral. Not to please the algorithm. But to practice being visible. Comment, engage, share your voice. The momentum will follow.

Maya:
So good. I want to share a quick client win, because Carmen actually coached one of my mastermind clients who was terrified of being on video — and now she’s hosting weekly IG Lives like it’s no big deal.

Carmen:
Ahh yes, I remember her! Her transformation was wild — but also so normal when you take the pressure off. Most people aren’t afraid of being visible — they’re afraid of being judged while visible. When we untangle that, everything changes.

Maya:
Oof. Okay last question: what does successful visibility look like to you?

Carmen:
To me, it looks like ease. It’s not about follower count or going viral — it’s about being known for something meaningful, by the people who matter. It’s when your DMs are full of aligned clients, not just likes. When people say, “I feel like you were talking to me.” That’s real impact.

Maya:
Carmen, this was so full of gold. Thank you for showing up exactly as you are.

Carmen:
Thank you, Maya. This was a whole vibe.

Maya:
Alright, friends — go take up space. Your voice, your truth, your presence — it’s needed. And if you love this episode, don’t forget to share it with your biz bestie. We’ll catch you next time inside the Ammora Podcast.
